Last month in a rare creative parenting move, I bought my daughter a set of clear plastic menu covers—the kind you’d find at a diner. Within minutes, the Bunny Cafe was up and running with some unusual carrot-infused specials.

Sometimes I ask clients to think about their moves in their relationships as items they’re ordering from a menu. No one wakes up and says to themselves, “You know I think I’ll order a nice plate of not being honest with my boss and then wash that down with some unnecessary overfunctioning for my dad.”
